It’s not just the higher focus on gameplay mechanics that replicate whatever potentially mundane task you’re set to complete, but the realistic graphics just don’t hold my attention as well with games of this type. Pick colors from the palette, drop colored house blocks on an irregular grid and look. It felt like something that I could just relax to, create some impressive structures and communities with, all while experiencing an art style that can manage to keep the attention of my ADHD riddled mind. Townscaper is an experimental passion project. The usage of bright colors, rounded building assets just screamed a cute cartoony style at me. Townscaper drew me in with its art style.
